A: We recommend booking as soon as possible - most couples book 9-18 months in advance to secure their date

Q: Do you only do weddings?

A: While weddings are our specialty, we also DJ for corporate events, birthday parties, school dances, and more. If it needs music and energy, we’re there!

Q: What areas do you serve?

A: We’re based in Minnesota, but serve events throughout the region (and beyond upon request). Travel fees may apply for events outside our standard service area.

Pricing & Packages

Q: How much does it cost to book a DJ?

A: Our wedding DJ Packages start at $1,000 and range up depending on coverage, equipment, and add-ons like lighting or ceremony sound.

Q: Do you require a deposit?

A: Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due prior to your event.

Q: Can we customize a package?

A: Absolutely! We’ll tailor our services to fit your vision, timeline, and budget.

Planning & Music

Q: Can we choose our own music?

A: Definitely! We work with you to build playlists for your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dance. You can also provide a “do not play” list.

Q: Do you take song requests from guests?

A: Yes - unless you prefer otherwise. We’ll always prioritize your preferences first.

Q: Will you help with announcements and MC duties?

A: Yes, all of our DJs act as professional MCs, keeping your timeline on track and energy high.

Equipment & Setup

Q: Do you provide your own equipment?

A: Yes! We bring professional-grade speakers, microphones, and DJ gear. We can also provide lighting, uplighting, and photo booth add-ons.

Q: What do you need from the venue?

A: Just access to power and a space for setup. We’ll coordinate directly with your venue to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Q: How early do you arrive to set up?

A: We typically arrive 1.5-2 hours before your event to ensure everything is ready before guests arrive.

Q: Do you offer more than DJ services?

A: Yes! NorthWoods also offers photo booth rentals, videography, day-of coordination, photography, and event planning. Many couples love bundling services for convenience and savings.
